Diverse Housing services, Inc. (DHS) a 501 C3, Not for Profit Florida Corporation established in January 2019, founded by Ramona Hyson, President / CEO of Nelson & Associates, Inc. (dba Diverse Real Estate Services, Inc. in the State of Florida) was established for the purpose of providing and developing, affordable housing to very low-, low- and moderate-income families.
Diverse Housing Services, Inc was founded to address a need in its community: preserving affordable rural housing. One example is Amaryllis Gardens, a 44-unit rental property in Pahokee, Florida. Pahokee is a small agricultural town on the southeastern bank of Lake Okeechobee.
Nelson & Associates doing business in Florida as Diverse Real Estate Services, Inc.combined its experience in affordable housing with a nonprofit mission to create Diverse Housing Services, Inc, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and improving affordable housing like Amaryllis Gardens. DHS worked with USDA RD and HAC to fund the project’s predevelopment expenses and acquire Amaryllis Gardens.
